Why is solving Indian's inflation crisis so important?

The following graph gives you the trend of inflation in India in the past 10+ years. Inflation has been unsustainable during the past few years. CPI is the Consumer Price Index. CPI data is released every month and I hope to update it on this blog when it is released.

  1. Good initiative. It is possible for individuas and families to modify their lifestyle to live comfortably despite inflation. Ideas and hints for the same will be useful. However increasing supply, investment in production, reasonable monetary policy, sensible fiscal policy etc. will be required to tame inflation. We can discuss some theory but practice of the same is not in our hands. It is with the policy makers.

  2. Thanks Badri. I will sync up with you on how we can take the ideas on ideas and hints (to beat inflation) further. Ajay Shah (who is the author of the article referenced) is a policy maker (on GAAR) as well. Hoping for better moves from the policy makers.
